Risk Disclosure
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Trading meme coins is very risky. Please read this page before you use Money. It is general information, not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Money does not promise any profit or outcome.
You can lose everything you put in
Meme coin prices can move a lot in minutes and can fall to zero. Most meme coins lose value over time. Only trade money you can afford to lose.
Risks you should know about
- Scams and rug pulls: a token's creator can remove liquidity, block selling, or change the rules after you buy. Safety signals shown in the app are based on public data and can be wrong or incomplete. No tool can reliably spot every scam.
- Low liquidity: you may not be able to sell, or may only sell at a much worse price.
- Slippage and price changes: the price you get can differ from the price you saw, especially in fast or thin markets.
- Speed does not remove risk: fast tools let you act quickly, which also makes it easy to lose money quickly.
- Final transactions: blockchain transactions cannot be undone. Mistakes in an address, an amount or a token cannot be reversed.
- Self-custody: you hold your own keys. If you lose them or they are stolen, nobody can recover your funds.
- Network problems: congestion, outages and failed transactions can happen, and you still pay network fees on failed transactions in many cases.
- Third parties: data, prices and routes come from services we do not control. They can be late, wrong or unavailable.
- Smart contract risk: contracts can have bugs or hidden functions.
- Rules and tax: laws about crypto differ between countries and can change. You are responsible for your own tax and for following the rules where you live.
- No protection scheme: crypto held in your own wallet is not covered by a bank deposit guarantee or an investor compensation scheme.
